Lime Hill Quartet warmly welcomes its partner and friend, Millhill Big Band to internet. Check out the fabulous, brand new website and become a fan in Facebook here.

What a lovely summer! Lime Hill Quartet has been performing actively in several jazz sessions: Tikkujamit jazz sessions, Haukilahti jazz jam sessio and Primula Jazz. Talented drummer Markus Roukala will be playing the drums until mid-August while our regular drummer is studying in Germany.

The highlight of this summer is definitely Jazz by the Sea Festival in Kotka. We have been invited to play the the first two sets in the opening concert on Thursday, July 28th. We will be heading to Kotka with joyful and latin mood. Our concert is called "Lime Hill in Rio". This means our repertoire will consist of lovely latin tunes - while not forgetting swing classics. We will be performing as a larger Lime Hill Combo - with saxophone/clarinet players Kimmo Leppälä and Pauli Leppälä. More information abou the festival can be found here.

Lime Hill Quartet's vocalist Heidi Lehmuskumpu has also started a new duo together with Brazilian guitarist Fabio de Oliveira. This Heidi & Fabio Duo plays bossanova spiced up with different flavors. The duo can be heard at the Jailbird Restaurant of Hotel Katajanokka every other Wednesday during the summer - until August 10th. More information can be found in Facebook here.

Vocalist Heidi Lehmuskumpu returned to Finland on May 5th. Lots of things have happened already. Lime Hill Duo (piano & vocals) has had already three gigs, two of which were at the Grand Casino in Helsinki. Today, on Thursday, we will finally gig with the entire band! Fantastic Markus Roukala will be on the drums and Jukka Uljas on the saxophone.

The gig will be at Tikkujamit, Vernissa, which has a special place in our hearts. Be prepared to something new and also surprising! ;-)

We have also finally published a Facebook like! Go and like our page so you will be among the first ones to hear what's going on. In addition, we published altogether seven videos from our Martinus-sali gig in March 2010. You can find these videos here at our website! Enjoy. :)

Many things have happened during this winter - and on many continents! First of all, Lime Hill Quartet had several gigs in Finland featuring a fabulous singer Camilla Bäckman. In January, Lime Hill performed at a private gala concert at the Finlandia Hall. This show was again a combination of music and dance, since it featured also the fantastic dancers: Jevgeni Privalov & Maria Kangasaho. Lime Hill wants to express sincere thank you for Camilla during the past eight months. It was a pleasure to work with you during this period. All the feedback has been tremendously positive! :)

Meanwhile Heidi Lehmuskumpu lived in New York. Heidi went even deepr into the world of Brazilian bossanova, especially. She collaborated with several musicians. In March Heidi performed with exceptional guitarist Michael Howell at the Salmangundi Club. In April, Heidi was a guest of singer-percussionist Nanny Assis at his bossanova show at the restaurant SOB's.

Finally, drummer Eki Vikman toured exotic Asia in January-February. He, as well, ended up performing in Asia - as a guest of a prestigious governor at a fancy wedding party! Currently Eki is studying in Germany for a while. Talented Markus Roukala is playing the drums until mid-August, when Eki will return from Germany.

Happy 93rd Independency Day, Finland! The past fall has been busy for Lime Hill Quartet that has performed actively with Camilla Bäckman, who has been covering in the vocals.

Now we are pleased to announce, that there are new sound clips availabe at our Music section. Most of them are from the year 2010 and were recorded at the concert "Portraits of Great Jazz Singers" held at Martinus-sali on March 26, 2010. The concert / show included altogether 25 performers.

Finally, we have also decided to publish a Facebook page. Also other new fantastic things are on their way. Stay tuned and read our news every now and then!

Sunday, September 5th, 2010

No words can describe well enough this past spring and summer! We have done more gigs than ever so far. It is fantastic to notice that usually one gig is followed by more than one new gig. We feel sincerely humble and thankful. We must be doing some things right. ;-)

First of all the concert at the Martinus hall was absolutely fantastic! The end result and experience were definetely worth all the hard work and sleepless hours before the gig. We were lucky to have a fantastic team to make the show - starting fromthe producer Juha Nevalainen (POPNevis) and going all the way to the top-class sound and lighting professionals. We combined music and dance in a large scale. We really created something new - something that combined different art forms. The time before the concert was extremely intensive. Similarily we enjoyed the after-gig feeling for several days. Finally, an empty feeling aroused, since the gig was really something special.

However, we did not rest too long but in stead started to plan for new things. More to come in the future. ;-)

The entire summer 2010 has included heavy touring. One of the most memorable summer gigs was the Pyryjazz event - a private event organized during the Pori Jazz festival. We played to some 500 listeners. In addition especially the following gigs have stayed in our hearts: "Lime Hill Goes Latin" at the Espa stage and "Garota de Ipanema" as a piano-vocals duo gig as part of the Art Goes Kapakka festival.

In addition, we have to mention the fantastic Kotka jazz camp, where the majority of our band spent the first week of August. Our teacher was the the fabulous Danish jazz singer Katrine Madsen. The week opened our eyes and gave new insight and views. Furthermore, we were inspired to start to write our own music!!

As if this wasn't enough, there are more changes coming up. The singer Heidi Lehmuskumpu will move to New York for eight monts (September 12th - May 6th). During this time fantastic Camilla Bäckman will cover Heidi in the vocals. In addition to singing, Camilla also plays violin. We are very happy that talented Camilla has joined Lime Hill for this time period. Sincerely welcome!

Lots of things happening now and many more things are planned for future, as well. Stay tuned! :)

Wow - what a start for the year 2010! The beginning has been so fast that we haven't even had time to update our blog.

First of all, December - January was fantastic. Half of our band were travelling at different locations in South America, for example in Brazil and Mexico. We came back with plenty of wonderful musical memories, experiences and ideas. For example, Heidi had dinner in Rio de Janeiro in the exact restaurant where the song Girl from Ipanema was written. Now this popular bossanova is not just any song. It is a special piece written to an actual, beautiful woman that used to pass by the restaurant on her way to the beach. Special thanks go to Luciana Santanna, from whom Heidi was grateful to take several singing lessons! Thank you so much! With this inspiration gained from the singing lessons Lime Hill Quartet will play more and more songs in Portuguese in the future - no doubt!

After the holidays things have been totally hectic. We have more and more gigs. So far we have already performed at Matka exhibition and the Bohemia jazz session. Soon we'll be at the Wedding Fair in Lahti, Feeniks Club (25.2.) and Grand Casino (9.3.) Not to forget all the private events.

By far most time-consuming is arranging and rehearsing our concert "Portraits of Great Jazz Singers / Suurten jazzlaulajien matkassa", which will be on March 26th. This will be our biggest concert so far and we are very excited about the show. Lime Hill Quartet will perform with two saxophone players - Kimmo Leppälä and Olli Salmi. On the second half, Millhill Big Band will be on the stage - led by the exact same Kimmo Leppälä. Heidi will also make her debut as a Big Band vocalist. Finally, as the topping for the great evening, a fantastic 10 dance couple, Jevgeni Privalov & Maria Kangasaho will create fabulous dance numbers during the night while we will be playing.

"Suurten jazzlaulajien matkassa" ("Portraits of Great Jazz Singers)
Martinus-sali, Vantaa
Friday, March 26th at 7.00 pm

Hope to see many of you in the audience! We will not be arranging a show of this scale for a while. Tickets can be purchase from Lippupiste in advance. Lippupiste can be found here.

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

It's again time for the Love and Wedding exhibition. You're kindly welcome to listen to us play. During other times we will be located at our stand 4 A 40. The couples seem to be early to book us for the year 2010. So kindly be fast in case you would like us to play at your wedding! :-)

One gig has been cancelled. The jam session on December 2nd was cancelled entirely and thus our performance, as well.

During December - January we will have a long, four week holiday. We'll see you again in 2010 after a well and deserved rest! :D

Sunday, October 11th, 2009

Wow, time has really gone by fast. We have had a fantastic summer and beginning of the fall. In addition to various parties, we have played at the guest harbour in Ruovesi, Aurinkolahden aukio on the Night of the Arts and at the Art Goes Kapakka festival as a piano & vocals duo.

Once we're heading towards the end of the year, we will have three public jazz gigs. They will be on October 28th, November 4th and December 2nd. You're most welcome to join the concerts! In addition to these, we'll play already for the second time at the Love & Wedding Exhibition at the Helsinki Fair Centre on November 13th - 15th.

One great new thing is a co-operation with MusiikkiHelmi. We have tailored a show & dinner package "Around the World" that is sold through them. We're honored to have a fantastic saxophone player and a talented 10-dance couple Jevgeni Privalov - Maria Kangasaho performing in this show with us.

Saturday, July 25th, 2009

What a great week! We performed both as a piano and vocals duo, as well as a quintet (piano, vocals, bass guitar, guitar and saxophone) at the guest harbour in Taalintehdas, Kemiönsaari. We will surely remember these gigs for a long, long time. The audience ended up sitting on their boat decks while enjoying the lovely musical moment on a summer afternoon. The athmosphere was absolutely memorable. We got to stay overnight at a sailing boat and thus got a bit of taste of sailor's life. This kind of a life is definitely a tempting choice. Although we still need practise in getting the perfect tan. The vocalist got a serious sunburn and looks like a red bean. ;-) Thank you, dear audience and organizors! We would definitely love to come and play another time!

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Now it has happened! Pianist Erkki Rännäli has made his debut also as a jazz singer. He sang beautifully the song Fly me to the moon together with a scat solo. Erkki's debut was part of the Rytmi Omena music school's final concert after a week-long vocal course. Erkki attended the course both as a pianist and a vocal student. Heidi attended this course, as well and got new instructions from the fabulous jazz singer Ira Kaspi, again. Desire to learn more seems to be endless! :-)

Huge thanks for you all who came to listen to us at the Espa stage yesterday even thought the weather was terribly cold and rainy! One cannot describe how great it felt to see people watching and listening to us under their umbrellas. And smiling back! :-) What a great feeling to play at the Espa stage again. A huge thanks goes to our great guest players - saxophone player Mikko Veijonen and trumpet player Tuure Tammi! In addition, we played many new tunes, which was very inspiring. Again - we warmly thank Petro Ijäs who took care of the sounds. And of course a special thanks goes to Jan Markus David Hoffman, as well, as he was taking a huge amount of wonderful pictures. THANK YOU!

Hope to see you at the Espa stage next year, as well! Before that we'll be doing plenty of other things. In August we'll be playing at the Night of Arts (Taiteiden Yö). In addition, Heidi and Eki will perform as a piano and vocals duo as part of the Art Goes Kapakka festival. But more information about these later...

Friday, June 5th, 2009

Yesterday's gig was already the fourth gig that we had at Alvi's jam session in Haukilahti. It is amazing - each time feels so special here because there are so many memories attached. And it was exactly here that we played our very first gig as Lime Hill Quartet in October 2006! Now we're getting excited about our forthcoming gig at the Espa stage on Tuesday, June 9th at 6.30 pm. Several new and exciting tunes will be played there. In addition to this, we'll make our first gig with guitar on Friday, June 12th, in Aurinkolahti. Hope to see you at these gigs!

Friday, May 29th, 2009

Fantabulous jazz gig yesterday at Vernissa, Tikkurila. It was so amazing to be jamming relaxed and still with full energy together at the stage. Everyone got into the mood with their whole body. We played very well as a group. And after all, that's what jazz is all about. We must say that the audience was especially wonderful. Sincere thank you for all the great feedback you gave to us!! :-) We had such a luxury to play when professionals were taking care of sound and lights! We can't wait till the next time at Vernissa!! :D Read an article about us here (made before the gig). This is again unfortunately in Finnish. Another article was written after the gig and it can be found here.

Long time, no talk. We have had a really busy winter. We have enjoyed winter weddings, two wedding exhibitions in Turku and Lahti, as well as other types of music events.

We published an add page at the wedding portal "Naimisiin.info" so now you can find us there, as well! We have, in fact, agreed again new gigs at a fast tempo. It is wonderful to notice that more and more people extend their summer weddings both till May and till September. In addition, we were interviewed by Häät.fi. We listed the most popular wedding tunes in this interviews. Please read more here.

May-June seems to become full with jazz, which is a wonderful change after a long and intensive period of groovy party music. We're in the process of selecting new tunes for our repertoire. Please feel free to suggest good jazz tunes by sending e-mail to info@limehill.fi. Please feel free to suggest party songs, as well! :-)

We're focusing at jazz also because in May-June we will have three public jazz gigs. We'll be playing at Tikkujamit on Thursday, May 28th, Alvie's jam session on Thursday, June 4th and at the Espa stage on Tuesday, June 9th. Wellcome to listen! I hope to see many of you at these gigs - especially at the Espa stage, where we'll be performing for the second time playing a one-hour set. More information can be found at the section "What's new".

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

We are extremely happy to announce that we have just published a brand new photo gallery! You can see pictures from about ten gigs so please have a look! We have been blessed with fantastic co-operative photographers during our journely. Warm thanks to you all! :-)

We are actually very satisfied with our solution for the photo gallery. The photo gallery is offered to us by Kuvat.fi. This is a good solution for anyone in need of an elegant and reasonably priced photo gallery in the internet. Please visit www.kuvat.fi and read more!

In addition to the photo gallery we have also published altogeher seven new songs! (These songs are already on the Finnish site and will be added to the English site asap.) Two of these songs - Footprints and I'll be seeing you - were recorded in the spring of 2008. However, altogether five songs are live recordings from the fall of 2008. We are pleased to have fantastic Olli Salmi playing saxophone with us in these live recordings. Again, we want to express our huge thanks to Petro who did an enormous job in recording the studio versions. Not to forget that he edited the live recordings so that they could be published on our website. Thank you so much! :-)

Now we'll be heading to the wedding exhibitions in Lahti and Turku!

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

We want to wish you all wonderful year 2009! We have been happily so busy that we haven't even had time to update our blog! So here it goes... December was absolutely fantastic, even though we were busy. It was fabulous to play both at companies' Christmas parties and customer events, as well as at weddings. We coudn't be happier when the mother of the bride told us afterwards that all the guest had enjoyed our music a great deal and that "if and when our son gets married, we will definitely order you to play again!"

We also had a exceptional possibility in December to go out with the band after one gig. The night brought hilarious memories. Even though the "teenage disco" we ended up to wasn't maybe the best possible choice for us. :-) At least the older people in our band noticed that times have truly changed since the 90's...

The first gig in 2009 was already on Thursday, January 8th when we played at Alvi's Dixie Stompers' jam session in Haukilahti, Espoo. This place is a special, lovely and nostalgic place for us - there is no other like this. The reason is that it was exactly this same jam session where we played our first gig as Lime Hill Quartet in October 2006. Can you imagine - almost 2,5 years ago! The athmosphere is beautiful and cozy. In fact, Alvi invited us to play the next time already on June 4th. This will be the 4th time at Alvi's jam during our existence. And naturally we accepted the invitation!

Right now we are concentrating on the coming wedding exhibitions. We will play in Lahti the coming weekend and in Turku on the last weekend in January. I hope that you will come to hear us and ask details of our wedding packages! We would be happy to make an offer for the music on your entire wedding day. And not to forget other parties either! :-)

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

We absolutely love winter weddings! The feeling is so beautiful and warm - and not only thanks to all the candles! It seems one could never get bored at this work. There is no other place where you can meet so many happy and optimistic people! Not to forget how great it is to see that all the guests are happy and dancing at their fullest. Again sincere thanks for your lovely words that you said after the gig!

Now we are heading towards Christmas parties and new weddings. Our repertoire has widened along the road, as well. We have probably some 100 pieces at the moment. One example of a new addition is a combination of three Finnish hits (Sata Kesää - Ei oo, ei tuu - Kun kuuntelen Tomppaa). We don't normally play Finnish hits but this excellent addition was brought to our repertoire after one special couple's wishes. Thank you! :-)

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Our partners from many shows, standard ballroom dance professionals Matti and Tea Kantola are happy parents of a baby girl that was born on Monday. Lime Hill Quartet sends warm greetings to the entire family. Congratulations! :-)

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

What a fabulous night at the Feeniks club at the restaurant Swengi on Wednesday, October 29th. Markus Hohti started the night with his cello in a memorable way. Afterwards we spiced up the evening a bit differently. Saxophone player Olli Salmi was jamming with us. Thank you again for your great contribution!

We had such a good time that the singer was joking all kinds of jokes. :-) Not to forget that there was also a reporter from the local daily Keski-Uusimaa. A story was made for the newspaper for Friday, October 31st. Wow!

Singer Heidi and pianist Erkki spent the weekend in Mikkeli and perfomed as a duo at the restaurant Frasmanni. This gig was a beautiful and memorable one. It was fantastic to play when we were surrounded by candles at the restaurant. We want to thank you all our contacts at the hotel and restaurant Fransmanni. What a fantastic place! We'll be happy to come and play many times again!

Monday, October 13th, 2008

What a wonderful set of gigs at the Love & Wedding Exhibition at the Helsinki Fair Center on October 10th - 12th. It was absolutely fantastic to leave our mark in the history and play live music at the wedding fashion show! There is something unique when several forms of art are combined - fashion professionals, dancers and musicians.

Sincere thanks to all the organizors and partners - Sari, Merja, Leena, Terhi and Sanna, as well as the entire Mode crew. Special thanks and warm hug to the choreographer Jenni Ruuskanen! It was a pleasure to create a new, differerent and inspiring experience for the visitors!

Saxophone player Olli Salmi deserves our special thanks, as well. Thank you for jamming with us on the stage once again. It is always a pleasure to play with you!

Above all, we would like to thank the wonderful guests! It has been great to receive so many messages afterwards and agree performances at your parties! The best thanks to us is, if we managed to get into your heart and if you want us to come and give our share at your special events with our music. You can count on the fact that we will give our all to make your parties memorable!

It was somewhat sad to start going home after the great exhibition. Luckily we will see many of you at your weddings or other parties! :-)

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

Only a few days left till the wedding exhibition "Häät ja rakkaus". We will be playing live music at the wedding fashion shows. Featuring the fabulous saxophone and clarinet player Olli Salmi! The choreographer Jenni Ruuskanen has created a fantastic show! It is a pleasure to be part of this event and play both groovy party music and jazz!

We are actually missing the weddings already after a busy summer. The most memorable wedding was further up north a while ago. The guests were dancing like crazy with our songs such as Hot Stuff, Lady Marmalade and other party songs. Finally we continued to the after-party with a group of people, headed by the bride and groom. There was even a man making pizzas! It is not so often that we feel fresh and sparky at 4 am in the morning. :-)

Read an article of us made for the wedding exhibition here. Unfortunately the article is only available in Finnish.

See you with a big crowd at the exhibition!

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

It was absolutely fantastic to play at the 2-day Gimme 2008 exhibition. Special thanks to the organizors at Wanha Satama - especially Soineli Jormakka and Irina Liimatainen. We are thankful that we could be part of the event. It was a pleasure to play for the numerous visitors. Sincere thanks also to the saxophone and clarinet player Olli Salmi, who was swinging with us with great talent.

We received a good amount of enquiries for different company and private events. Thank you for your supportive feedback. We are happy to keep playing jazz and groovy party music - at all kinds of events!

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Wonderful weddings again behind us. We're so glad that we were invited to be the ones who create the musical athmosphere. Thank you! :-) No doubt that one of the most memorable moments was when at one wedding the guests danced in a row when the song Hot Stuff started to play at the end of the evening. And the mother of the groom said that this was the best disco ever. :D Thank you very much, dear wedding couples, from our behalf!

Yesterday we finally had a public gig - after a long while. It was fantastic to see so many both familiar and new faces among the audience! And again it was a pleasure to play with the saxophone player Kimmo Leppälä. We had an absolutely relaxed and fabulous feeling at the stage. Big thanks to all you who came to listen to us and gave us so much!

Let's meet again soon. Many interesting things coming up...

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

We have experienced absolutely wonderful wedding celebrations. We want to express our sincere thanks to all the couples! We enjoyed being part of creating memorable experiences for you. Even though we see a lot of weddings - each of them is a unique experience and a memory for us.

During the past month our memory is enriched with a Finnish-Scottish wedding with the classical tune Auld Lang Syne, playing - and even dancing - by the fireplace at a romantic house in the countryside and sentimental moods in the beautiful countryside near Turku. We want to thank all the dancers, listeners and those that enjoyed our music in other ways. We enjoyed every single moment. I hope to see you again at a different setting! :-)

Monday, June 16th, 2008

We had an absolutely fabulous week. First of all we were invited to a very elegant company party, where we played swing music and bossa nova. Thank you - we sincerely enjoyed this special celebration! Secondly, we experienced an absolutely fantastic wedding. During the dinner we played jazz, which has started to become a custom. You can only imagine how happy we felt when when saw that the guests were dancing hard at the end of the night while we played Lady Marmalade, Car Wash and other groove hits. Thank you for all of you for your beautiful and encouraging words. It was wonderful that we were able to get you smiling even harder. Sincere thanks! Special thanks to Kimmo Leppälä and Riku Pelo who came to play with us!

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

Now we have officially started this summer's wedding season. One must say that weddings are wonderful celebrations. It is absolutely great to see so many happy people around you! Beautiful setting, fabulous wedding couple and plenty of peple having a good time and enjoying the music. Thank you all! We would have liked to keep you dancing even longer! :-)

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

Summer is almost here and spring is starting to be behind us. We're heading enthusiastically towards the summer and all the weddings we have been invited to. It seems that every couple's wedding will have a special, personal touch. It is a pleasure to be part of all them - starting from the planning process. In addition to the weddings, we are looking forward to all the companies' summer parties and other gigs. Let's greet the warm sun together!

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

We have experienced an exciting week. It was wonderful to play at Sibelius Academy's Feeniks club on Thursday together with the fabulous saxophone player Mikko Veijonen. Hanna Tuomela's ensemble played different kind of music after us - "fresh pop" - just like they promised. Absolutely wonderful.

Today we were recording two new songs at the studio: Footprints and I'll be seeing you. We will place samples of them to this website during the spring... :-) Petro Ijäs did the recording. Thank you again for your fabulous work. It is surely a pleasure to work with you!

Monday, March 17th, 2008

The feeling is absolutely great after performing as a duo (vocals and piano) at the opening ceremony of the new dance studio - TanssiBuumi. We feel honored that we were able to celebrate the birth of this fabulous dance studio. Special thanks to Erik, Sanna and Leevi for inviting us to play at the opening ceremony! In addition, we enjoyed seeing the beautiful dance numbers of the Eurovision Dance Contest winners Jussi Väänänen and Katja Koukkula together with some two hundred other guests.

Then it's time to wait for Friday, March 21st. Our drummer Eki Vikman will make his debut as a singer in the TV program "Tartu Mikkiin". Fantastic! :-)

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

What can you say. Dancing is just something totally wonderful. We had the pleasure of having Matti and Tea Kantola, fabulous ballroom dance professionals, performing at yesterday's private event while we were playing jazz. Gorgeus setting, wonderful feeling.

Saturday, February 23th, 2008

Pappila premises, near the "Helsingin Pitäjän kirkko" church offered an absolutely beautiful setting yesterday when we performed as a trio. Erkki played the same old piano that Sibelius himself has used when practising long time ago!

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

The coming summer seems to be full of happiness and sunshine - not to forget romance! We are absolutely excited to be able to be part of creating the wedding day of several couples and in different cities!

Talking about weddings. In case you're in a middle of organizing some kind of a party, come to listen to us at the Pappila (Helsingin Pitäjän kirkko) on February 22nd. The catering firm Alibaba will introduce their delicious food choices while we will be playing swinging jazz as a trio.

Sunday, January 13th, 2008

The feeling after 12 sets of playing is tired but happy! We absolutely enjoyed playing at the wedding exhibition in Helsinki. The whole setting and athmosphere were stunningly beautiful. Thank you all who came to listen to us. Hopefully we will see many of you in your weddings or other celebrations!

We want to express special thanks to the organizor Liisa Silla, as well as to Leena Sarvi who was the master of ceremony of all the fashion shows. It was a pleasure to work with you. Hopefully we will continue co-operation in the future!

Friday, January 4th, 2008

What a great start for the new year! We got to be the guest band at Alvi's Dixie Stompers' jam night yesterday. The restaurant was crowded and the athmosphere was cozy and warm. Thanks to the audience and sincere thanks for your words after the gig. We're happy that we could bring smile on your faces and make you swing!

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

We sent information about our homepage to several people. The site is finally officially open!

Blog from the fall 2007
